Task

A dark interior in 43 m²

To fit a kitchen-living room, a bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and a workspace, a hall and a bathroom with room for a washer and dryer into 43 m².

The interior is in a dark palette, so it needed well-planned lighting to stay cosy rather than cramped.

Solution

Graphite, wood and relief

In the living room, a corner sofa in warm taupe sits against a textured relief panel lit from above. Opposite are a TV unit, shelving and a print of a classical sculpture. The kitchen, with wood fronts and a graphite splashback, continues the space: an island with bar stools and a linear pendant above it.

In the bedroom, the wall behind the bed is clad in wood panels, a desk with an ergonomic chair stands beside it, and a projector throws the picture straight onto the wall. The walk-in wardrobe sits behind glass in black frames, with open rails, drawers and lit shelves inside.

The hall and bathroom are kept in graphite and concrete-look tiles. The hall has concealed doors, an LED line by the mirror, a bench with hooks and lit shelving; the bathroom has a white bath with a glass screen, a wall-hung WC, a washer-dryer column and a wood-look wall behind the bath.
