Loft character in a 67 m² flat
Bring the kitchen, dining and living areas into one space with a strong industrial character, but without the chill: the flat has to stay cosy for everyday life.
The hallway and corridor needed plenty of storage that does not look bulky, and the kids' room places to sleep, study and get ready.
Brick, dark fronts and warm wood
Brickwork runs through the whole flat, from the hallway to the TV wall with a bioethanol fireplace in the living room. Against it sit the dark matt fronts of the kitchen and wardrobes, an oak worktop and backlit splashback, and graphic black metal details: track lights, the reeded glass of the cabinets, the table frames.
A terracotta sofa and an abstract painting bring in colour. In the hallway the walls are painted a deep green, and the walnut-veneered wardrobe has a lit niche for books and objects. Soft warm light along the perimeter and local spots keep the space intimate.
In the bedroom, a relief stone wall lit around its edge stands behind the headboard, with brick and a glass-fronted wardrobe beside it. The workplace by the window is screened from the bed by black slats: at the desk it feels like a separate room, while light and the city view pass straight through.
The kids' room is light and soft: white brick with a heart of lights and photos above the bed, an upholstered headboard of rounded panels, and an oak pegboard with shelves over the desk. Stepped white shelving screens the bed from the desk, and a vanity with a round backlit mirror stands by the window.
Brick, walnut and stone

Brickwork
A wall of aged brick runs through the living room, dining area and corridor and sets the flat's industrial character.

Walnut veneer
A floor-to-ceiling hallway wardrobe in walnut veneer, with a lit niche for books and objects.

Stone relief
The wall behind the bedroom headboard is a rock-relief panel lit around its edge, so the light catches every fold.
