Townhouse with an emerald living room

A three-storey, 207 m² townhouse in Vladimir for a family with children. Mouldings, panelled doors and brass details sit alongside rich colour: plum in the vestibule, emerald in the living room and deep blue in the children's rooms and the attic.

Task

Three floors for a family with children

The ground floor had to bring the kitchen, dining and living areas together with a loggia, and to fit in a vestibule, a stair hall, a bathroom and a dressing room with a dressing table, a treadmill and a spot for the cat.

The middle floor is given to two children's rooms, a wardrobe room with space for ironing and a bathroom with a washer and dryer. Under the roof on the top floor are a playroom and a bedroom.

Solution

Mouldings, deep colour and brass

The living room is built on contrast: a beige kitchen with panelled fronts, emerald walls and walnut panelling behind the TV and bio-fireplace. A grey modular sofa, burgundy velvet chairs and a brass chandelier over the table set the tone, and a bar counter with high stools runs along the loggia windows.

The vestibule is painted plum, with black-and-white geometry underfoot, a stained-glass front door and a mirror in a gilded frame. The stair hall is lined with dark wood and glass-and-brass sconces, and the steps are lit. In the ground-floor dressing room, plum walls meet glass wardrobes in bronze frames and a pale floor with dark inserts.

Upstairs the floors are dark herringbone. One children's room has a blue headboard wall with neon gamepad symbols, timber slats and a shelving partition with a TV; the other has blue walls, a mustard upholstered headboard and a shelf for trophies. The attic is kept in blue: a playroom with football beanbags and gaming desks, and a bedroom with burgundy accents and lighting along the slopes.
