Rotunda and arcaded pavilion

Classical architecture in the open air

Two open structures were needed: a spacious pavilion with a covered arcade and a rotunda by a pool.

Both had to speak the language of classical architecture and look equally good by day and under evening lighting.

Arches, columns and an openwork dome

The pavilion is ringed by an arcade of round arches on columns, with a balustrade along its edge, and a glass dome with a spire rises over the central part. The cornices are traced by LED lines, a chandelier hangs under the vaults, and wrought-iron lamp posts with globe lanterns stand by the entrance steps.

The rotunda is a ring of fluted columns under an openwork dome with an oriental pattern and a spire. Lights are set into the cornice, a balustrade runs between the columns, and the rotunda stands on a round podium at the edge of the pool, reached by semicircular steps.

Around it are pale stone paving, a pool with blue-lit edges and urns holding boxwood balls. The pavilion is set among flower beds, spiral topiary and cypresses.
