Contemporary flat in Mytishchi

A light flat in Mytishchi where everyone has a room of their own. White and beige tie the rooms together, while details set their character: powder pinks and a bunny mirror for the daughter, dark wood and relief for the son, a green wall in the bedroom.

Task

Three rooms, three characters

Three rooms to design: one for the daughter, one for the son and a bedroom. The children's rooms needed desks by the window, places to sleep and storage; the bedroom, a dressing table and an armchair by the window.

Each room had to have a character of its own while staying part of one light flat.

Solution

Powder pink, dark wood and green

The daughter's room is in powder pink and white: a soft daybed against birch-grove wallpaper, a hanging swing chair and a bunny-ear mirror above a console on gold legs. The desk with an all-in-one computer stands by the window next to round lit niches, under an airy white chandelier.

The son's room has pale walls, dark timber slats and a white relief panel above the corner sofa. Wall cupboards and lit open shelving frame the desk and the double door, and a black ring light hangs from the ceiling.

The bedroom pairs beige with green: behind the bed are tropical-leaf wallpaper and relief panels in slim frames, opposite is a green wall with the TV. By the window stand a bouclé armchair and a marble-topped side table next to a dressing table, and a glass-globe chandelier hangs above the bed.
