Neoclassical calm for a family with children

To bring the living room, a kitchen-diner with a pantry, two bedrooms, a kids' room for two, a laundry room and three bathrooms into one light neoclassical language across 123 m², calm and never heavy.

The living room, with its curved wall of windows, had to become the heart of the flat, with furniture that follows its soft shape.

Marble, mouldings and soft lines

In the living room a curved sofa runs along the glazing, with beige and green armchairs and a cluster of bronze coffee tables on a round rug. Above them, in a lit circular recess in the ceiling, hangs a chandelier of metal leaves. To the sides are backlit dark wood shelves and a black marble wall for the television; opposite, grey-blue walls with mouldings and a painting.

The kitchen-diner is white classicism: panelled fronts, glazed wall cabinets with glazing bars, a hood set in a mantel and a lit stone splashback. The floor is white marble with golden veining; crystal chandeliers with arms hang above the table, and by the window, with its swagged curtains, stand a marble-topped table and chairs on slim golden legs. Next door is a pantry with floor-to-ceiling shelving and a built-in wine cabinet, and in the laundry room the washer and dryer are stacked among white panelled cupboards with brass handles.

The main bedroom has a bed with a soft headboard and quilted side panels, white walls with mouldings, a marble wall behind the television and a dressing table with a round mirror. The second bedroom is lighter still: a tall headboard of diagonal panels, white wardrobes with arched fronts and slim golden handles, and tall windows with grey curtains.

In the kids' room two beds with wavy headboards stand against olive velvet panels, with a desk to one side and a chandelier of crystal drops above. The bathroom pairs white marble with golden veining and dark marble: a bath clad in dark marble, a glass shower with brass frames, backlit open shelves and an oval mirror.

In the second bathroom, lit bands of grey-brown marble cut through the white marble; the basin sits on a black vanity with brass handles, beside a brass-framed shower and a brass towel rail. The third is lined with white panels and carved mouldings: a backlit round mirror above a grey stone counter, a vanity edged in brass and a grey marble shower.
