Task

Kitchen, kids' room and storage in the hall

To fit a kitchen with a dining area, a bedroom with a wardrobe system, a kids' room with a bunk bed and a bathroom into 80 m².

The hall and corridor needed storage and a place to sit down and change shoes, without feeling cramped.

Solution

Grey, wood and a blue accent

The hall is marked out by a blue wall with a backlit semicircular mirror and blue vertical slats. Beside it is a niche with a bench and hooks against dark slats, and a white chest of drawers stands by the front door. The corridor has light parquet, grey flush doors that blend with the walls and abstract paintings.

In the kitchen, wood-grain upper cabinets are paired with grey lower fronts and a light marble splashback, with the ovens built into a dark column. The dining table stands by the window, surrounded by chairs with quilted backs and facing a television and a wall of dark wood slats.

The bedroom has powder-pink walls, a mint wall behind the bed with three bright portraits, wood slats and a backlit glass-fronted wardrobe system. The kids' room has a bunk bed upholstered in pink, a bed with a wavy headboard, a white wardrobe with arches, cloud wallpaper and a desk for two by the window. The bathroom is lined with large stone-effect tiles, the shower with dark wood-effect tiles, and the niches hold backlit wooden shelves.
